1978 Datsun 180Bsss

I bought this one August 2000 but when investigation into the body of the car I found that the body of the car was pretty bad condition. I had replaced one rear suspension are because it had collapsed so that the car could be moved about.

About April 2001 I got stuck into the 180B and found disaster after disaster with the body. I remove both front wings and valance (well bits of them at least) and found some holes when removing the wings etc I had notices that the roof was a bit lumpy at the windscreen. I decided to investigate at a later stage.

I started to remove the vinyl roof I hade to cut it into strips but it did come off with very little effort and by the windscreen the metal came off with the vinyl roof. There was about a 2” gap between the roof and windscreen.

So I decided that the car was not worth fixing. If I was to restore the car this is some of the panels that I found I would have needed

1. 2 x rear quarter panels

2. 2 x front wings

3. Front valance

4. Bonnet and boot lid

5. Rear valance and back panel

6. Also need to fabricate new inner rear wheel arches

7. Roof section for above windscreen(front)

As you can see the choice was hard even if I could have got all the panels to get the bodywork looking right again.

So I decided to scrap the car but before i scrapped the car  I took ever part I could from it.
The  5-speed gearbox has been installed into the 200B along with the dashboard.

Here are some pictures of the 180B SSS
