 1965 Datsun 1500 Fairlady Roadster(called the face lift model)
only 178 RHD,s were made world wide.
There was 6 of these Datsuns being shipped from Japan to Zambia
and they had to go through Salisbury
Rhodesia and landed in the Datsun dealership never to reach
Zambia. I came across this Datsun in
Johannesburg in1999 it had been stripped in a million bits and
had been in that state for 8 years so i
made him a offer for it. It's taken me all this time to restore
it and also finding parts for it and also the
cost. I shipped it to the UK in 2005 where it went on show at the
NEC on the Classic Z stand and the
amount of interest in the car was incredible. The car is about 90%
finished now so hopefully it will be
finished in the next couple of years, as there are still a few
parts I am still trying to source.
