Our latest purchase a 1983 Datsun Cherry 1.0DX with 21k miles on the clock. A funny story of how it became our car. Its only a 2 owner car the origonal family owned it from new and then sold it to the person i bought it from who only owned it for a few weeks.

It went up for sale was the fact the car did run. The owner picked car up and drove it home total distance of maybe 200 miles (give or take).

The Owner had tried for 3 weeks to get the car running after a few discussions over price i bought the car unseen (other than the pictures). I sorted out a flight and pre send down a service kit to a friend who collected me from airport and drove me to where the car was. When we arrived it was a cold frosty morning the poor little cherry was sitting there all frozen up.
After a few discussions with the owner i found out he managing to rip the exhaust pipe from the rear silencer while trying to tow start it, Great 400 odd miles with no silencer.
I first tried to start it more to see if it was getting fuel it was flooded the plugs in no time. I never wasted any time cleaning them up i just fitted the new set i had shipped down, then removed the dizzy fitting new points, condensor, rotor arm and dizzy cap. turn of the key it fired up an ran with a very slight miss. So 10 mins later i was on the road heading ot a friends how to sort something out for them before the long drive home. The car ran great all the way home.
