Symptoms
Loss of power, erratic idle (more so when cold) boost spikes (loss of total power during overtake), excessive smoke out the back under hard accelration etc.
If you contact Nissan and say the above they will probably say you need a new diesel pump but that’s not really true.
What you do need it a new suction control valve, AKA fuel pressure regulator in the diesel pump.

Poor old Laurel needed some much TLC. On finding a crack on the chassis leg i decided to remove the rear axle and fuel tank to repair the area.

With a new car you get new issues one one mine was a faulty key fob like most of this type the covers and buttons fail break split etc. It’s not as common on the older fob but the newer style from 2000 on till about 2004/5 is quite bad and is used across the full Nissan range.

After the couple bits of skuttle repair i decided to remove the front supension and underseal the both inner wings to protect them.

After finsihing the drivers side i moved on to the other side thinking this should be easier due to it being nice and flat. I started by removing the panel and cleaning up the under panels. the heater fan had to be removed to clean out the bits of rust that fell in
